So as some of you may have seen on Instagram, on my birthday (Dec 19) I landed in Michigan, got in my car and went and picked up my new puppy son from No Dogs Left Behind rescue!
We named him Finn! He will be spent his first week with us in snowy Michigan before he took his first plane ride back to the big apple.
The week before we picked him up I scoured the internet for the cutest pup things and found everything I needed on various websites. Chewy pulled through the most, I got his main necessities like his crate, toys and treats there because literally everything was on sale! I ended up with about 9 items for $80. And that includes the crate and the puppy gate. I decided a puppy gate was ideal for during the day when I’m working at home, I can separate the living room and bedroom so he can’t get in there and eat my shoes when I’m not watching 😉 and it’s a small gate so the cats can get over it with ease and seek some peace and quiet when they need.
So we have had Finn for over a month now and I have to say, being a puppy mom is both stressful, takes a lot of patience but is well well worth it! Finn is easily one my best friends already. He looks at me with so much love and emotion. He trusts me. He hates when he lets me down (mainly when he bites my socks or barks at me). He is also currently taking puppy kindergarten classes where he will learn all of the basics!
He was about 4 whopping pounds when we got him and he’s about 7 pounds now. Almost as big as Lu and Sab (my cats). Puppies grow CRAZY fast. Each day he looks more mature. I love the little nugget to bits. He also got a clean bill of health from the vet. They think he is part Jack Russel terrier, but we will find out soon as we did a Wisdom Panel DNA test about a week ago.
Here are some pics:

Today!
I love him so much and hope you guys will follow along with him on his Instagram @rescuefinn (to see more pics!) I don’t want to be too puppy crazy mom on my page hehe.

• 8 years agoHaving a puppy is the best! I have a 2 year old Pomeranian (3 in February!) and I miss her puppy days so much! I actually bought several of those lampchop toys because they were her favorite. I recommend training your pup all types of tricks while they’re young because that’s when they listen to you the most. Good luck! ♥
