Backyard Transformation

As most of you know from following along on Instagram, Chris and I have been tirelessly working on fixing up our rental apartment’s backyard! It was pretty messy when we first moved in. Lots of bottles, scrap metal, just general junk strewn about. Over the last 2.5 years we FINALLY have it in a place where we are in love with it!

It’s crazy… I KNOW lols. Even I am still surprised when I remember it with all of the trash and weird scraps everywhere! Now it’s the perfect city oasis where Finn can romp around with his friends and not get muddy!

I absolutely love these Gladiator Dr. Martens sandals! So comfy!

Sharing all of the links to everything down here! I’ve sorted them by category. Some items are sadly not available but I’ve linked lots of really amazing alternatives that I also love! 🙂

I centered everything around this chic black couch (exact one linked above) and included some little outdoor rattan poufs and my teardrop chair that I love so much! It gives such a fun mix to the vibe. I originally wanted light wood and tan colors but black really suits my personality more, and it looks really modern!

Lanterns are truly one of my favorite home decor items. They make a room feel so cozy and at night there is nothing better than the lanterns coming on (I linked my solar powered ones above!) or even lighting the candles. It is such a VIBE!

Bar Cart, plants and other accessories!

This spring I added a couple of faux plants – some pine trees, vines etc! We have quite a few real vines growing already but since we rent we didn’t want to invest too much money into plants that we couldn’t take with us. We did however buy a really beautiful cherry blossom tree! We couldn’t resist. I also included our exact bar cart and some other accessories we have!

I hope you guys loved this transformation 🙂

It’s also interesting that solar lights work because of the photovoltaic effect. The most important part of a solar light is the photovoltaic or solar cell. The solar cell is the part that converts sunlight into direct electrical current. And it certainly eco-friendly! 🙂
