There’s a heartfelt ending to this outfit story. I went into Amarcord vintage in SoHo a couple of weeks ago during the Lucky magazine Shop Out and I saw this plaid cape and absolutely fell in love. It was a little out of my budget at the time… but I was surely tempted. I love the big plaid and the colors. It even has the most perfect buttons.
I took a couple of Instagrams in the cape and left without it. After posting it on Instagram I got the sweetest e-mail ever from Amarcord saying that they wanted to gift me the cape for posting it for them and they were fans of my blog! Seriously the SWEETEST thing. I felt so touched and the owner and I chatted for a long time and I was really moved by how thankful he was for my post.
I love when something so simple can really come back full circle. Now I have a story to think about when I wear this very special cape.
I paired it with my new Samantha Pleet x Wolverine boots… I love them in the new gray suede. This is my ideal fall color palette.
