A little how-to for a bit of a different pony tail.

I’ve been thinking of some ways to essentially re-invent my pony tail since my hair is pretty much always one of two ways: down and curly or up in a high messy pony.

I experimented with a braid tucked into a pony as well as a small braid wrapped around the part where you tie it off, so the braid adds a little detail to an otherwise standard look.

It’s pretty easy! In this guide I am using a fancy EcoTools hair drying brush. This brush is pretty awesome because it helps cut down the drying time for wet hair because of the circular shape. It allows air to flow through the brush thus drying the hair slightly faster and more efficiently.

So what I did here was I separated a little piece of hair to make the braid, insuring that if I wrapped it around the pony it wouldn’t look weird before I began braiding.

I then braided the hair and secured it with a small rubber band.

Then, I let that lay to the side while I teased my crown like normal.

The pony can now go up as you would normally do it!

After that you wrap the braid around the pony trying to get the tail of the braid below the pony so it’s nice and hidden. You can either tuck the tail into the existing rubber band or use another one, some people prefer to use a bobby pin but I don’t really mess with those.

And voila! You have a pony with a little more flair.

Hope you enjoyed!
