Tattoos.

I finally did it.

This is my “I’m terrified and I have no idea what this is going to feel like” face.

I can finally explain my tattoos to you guys! I know it’s been forever since I got them. As you may know, Noelle and I had planned on getting matching arrow tattoos for a longggggg time. I have wanted an arrow tattoo for years now, I’ve just been too chicken to actually do it. Plus I wanted to sit on it for long enough to make sure it was something I wanted on my body forever.

We found the perfect artist located in Hollywood through a friend. His name is Sean and he’s amazing! You can check him out on Instagram @seanfromtexas. His line work is incredible.

I’ve had a lot of tattoo ideas in my life sing high school, but now that I’m 25 I feel like I have a better idea of what I’d want on me for the rest of my adult life. Geometric shape tattoos are a perfect choice for me because it isn’t something that will get old or something that I’ll stop liking. After all, they’re just pretty shapes and lines!

So my arrow has a couple of meanings. I’m a sagittarius and while that may be cheesy, astrology and horoscopes are always very true for me and I’ve really identified with my sign. That is part of the reason why the arrow is my blog logo, so Jag Lever is also part of the reason why I got this tattoo. I drew the tattoo on the way to Joshua Tree and Noelle got the same exact one, so she also has a little piece of me on her.

The three lines on my wrist also has a couple of different meanings. The first time I saw this tattoo was on my favorite musician Lykke Li. I really loved the simplicity and I wanted to know more about its meaning and you wouldn’t believe how many meanings these three lines have! Some of the meanings that I really fell in love with are:

• It symbolizes the unity of body, mind and spirit. It also symbolizes other things that come in threes such as past, present and future. Many things come in threes.
• Three lines are necessary to form a plan figure; and three dimensions of length, breadth, and height, are necessary to form a solid.
• It is also known as a symbol of spiritual devotion.

Whew! It’s a lot. There’s even more, but thats the general idea behind my tattoos. Noelle also got a little spade on her finger.

In terms of pain, neither hurt nearly as bad as I anticipated. My belly button piercing hurt way worse than either tattoo. My wrist one hurt slightly more because of the area, but still totally not bad at all!

I actually already know what my next tattoo will be. It will happen this summer up north, stay tuned.
